CCTV and Security System Installation Melbourne

We install security and CCTV systems that keep an eye on the place when you cannot. Cameras you can actually check from your phone, alarms that do not go off at the neighbour cat, and access control that suits how your household or business really works.

Advanced Security and CCTV: what’s included

  • Hikvision, Dahua and Bosch CCTV systems with remote viewing
  • Alarm systems, sensors and back-to-base options
  • Video intercoms and access control
  • Existing system upgrades and fault repair

Home CCTV that you can actually use

A good home CCTV system is four to eight cameras covering the approaches to the house, the driveway, and the doors, recording to a network video recorder that keeps a few weeks of footage, with an app on your phone so you can check in from anywhere. We install Hikvision and Dahua systems most often because the picture quality, night vision and apps are reliable, and they hold up outdoors in Melbourne weather.

Cameras are wired, not wireless. Wireless cameras drop out, need charging, and record to someone else's cloud. Cabled cameras powered over the network cable just work, year after year.

Alarms, intercoms and access control

We install alarm systems with door and window sensors and pet-tolerant motion detectors, and set them up so that arming and disarming from your phone is simple enough that you will actually do it. Video intercoms let you see and speak to whoever is at the gate or front door from inside, or from your phone when you are out. For businesses we add access control so that keys stop being the problem.

Positioning, privacy and doing it properly

Camera placement is most of the job. We position cameras to cover your property and its entrances, at a height where they cannot be easily reached, and angled so they are not recording the neighbours. Cabling is run neatly through the roof and walls rather than tacked along the eaves, and every system is tested and the app set up on your phone before we leave.

Advanced Security and CCTV: common questions

How many cameras do I need for my house?

Most homes are well covered with four to six cameras: front door, driveway, back door and side access, plus any blind spots. Larger blocks or properties with a rear lane usually want eight.

Can I view my CCTV on my phone?

Yes. Every system we install comes with an app, and we set it up on your phone and show you how it works before we leave.

Wired or wireless CCTV?

Wired, every time. Wireless cameras drop out and need charging. A cabled camera powered over the network cable is reliable for years and records locally, not to a subscription cloud.

Do you install CCTV for businesses?

Yes. Shops, workshops, offices and warehouses, including systems with more cameras, longer retention and access control tied in.
